In 2022, Sophworks Recovery Group’s Summer Workshops are in their 4th year.* The aim of the Workshop is to help to disburse knowledge and skills into the community. The Workshops expose aspiring professionals to the people, facts, and assets that will help them make informed decisions about their professional lives.
The 2022 SRG Summer Workshop will focus on business ownership, operations and management. The Workshop is for adults who are interested in opening, managing, and promoting a new or current business endeavor. It will include a discussion of various types of businesses, ways that businesses can operate, obstacles that impede progress, and resources that help business owners find success (examples include websites, Facebook pages, pamphlets, etc.).

Featuring: This year’s attendees will be led in the process of producing new business plans or promotional materials. The workshop will also include dialogues/interviews with current owners of businesses, business lawyers, educational professionals, and other business experts.

2. This year's workshop is designed for Survivors of human trafficking.

∙ Applicants will be screened for eligibility.
∙ Participation in the workshop will not result in academic credit.
∙ All presenters and presentation materials will be limited to English.
∙ Full attendees will receive small financial compensation.
∙ The workshop will be hosted by Dr. Darryl Arrington, LCPC LPC NCC BC-TMH.
The 2022 Sophworks Recovery Group Business Professional Summer Workshop will occur on 6 consecutive Saturday mornings, beginning on May 28th, ending on July 2nd, from 10am to 12pm EST on each of those 6 Saturdays.
The SRG Business Professional Workshop is intended for anyone who is interested in starting a new business or improving their current business operations/management skills. No prior business experience is necessary for attendance.
Expected workshop subjects include: Types of business entities (corporations, sole proprietor, etc.), non-profit/501(c)(3), business plans, marketing, finances, supportive services (SBA, S.C.O.R.E., etc.), and obstacles to incorporation.
